Admissions Applications

If your child was born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014 they are due to start in the Reception class at a primary school from September 2018. You must apply for a Reception class for your child even if they attend a school nursery or have an older brother or sister at your preferred school. If your child currently attends a nursery attached to a school this does not give them any priority for a place in Reception at that school.

The eAdmissions website for online applications opens on Friday 1 September and the closing date for applications is 15 January 2018.

The booklet Starting Primary School 2018 contains all the information you need to know about applying for a Reception class place, including:

  • arrangements for selecting the pupils who apply
  • our oversubscription criteria (ie. how places are offered if there are more applicants than places)
  • an explanation of the process you need to follow to apply for a place at Longshaw Primary Academy for your child

If your child attends a nursery (either attached to a school or independent) a copy of the booklet will be sent home with your child. If your child does not attend nursery or you do not receive a copy, you will be able to download it via the link above or from the Waltham Forest website in September www.walthamforest.gov.uk
